Following information received from the patient satisfaction survey, and after discussion with the patient liaison committee we have reviewed our appointment system and this leaflet gives information on how you can best access our services.
How many Appointments do we offer in 1 week?
The surgery can offer up to 1135 face to face appointments per week (excluding the treatment room services). 550 of these are available to be booked up to 4 weeks in advance, 585 of these are available are available for same day booking.
If you require an emergency appointment, please ring the surgery on 01733 264506 from 8am Monday to Friday. You will be offered and emergency appointment by one of the receptionists with either an experienced Nurse Practitioner or one of the doctors, one of whom will be the duty / emergency doctor who may be called out at any time during the day for an emergency home visit. We will endeavour to see anyone who is requesting an emergency appointment the same day. Please try and ensure these appointments are for medical emergencies only.
Please ensure any request for home visits are made before 11.00am on the day of request. It may not be possible to specify who the visiting clinician will be. Please ensure you leave a telephone number with the receptionist as the doctor or nurse may wish to speak to you before visiting.
Any visits requested after this time should be for emergency visits only which will be managed by the on call doctor. In certain circumstances they may recommend calling an ambulance instead of visiting.
Non Urgent Appointments
The practice offer ‘same day’ appointments in addition to emergency appointments, but unfortunately it cannot be guaranteed that you will be able to see the doctor of your choice as these appointments may be filled by patients requesting emergency appointments who would take priority. If these appointments are filled you may be asked to phone back the following morning, or later the same day.
